Here's a list of projects I know are a possible success.

Siacoin, Maidsafe, IPFS, Storj, and now Filecoin.

Also. With Amazon discontinuing unlimited cloud storage and Google also cracking down... There will be a look for something more decentralized. So one of these projects will boom. We just need to figure out the top 2-3 and support them.

decentralized data stores are really neat, in fact I'm working on my own posix like file system which is built around this idea.

I really disagree with integrating it with block chain and tying in all this crypto coin nonsense however. Dropped.
