Buy hee an iPad
AV programs are for systems which already have flawed security. Install hardened gentoo and you'll have a damn secure setup as long as you aren't a retard.
avast home is free and good enough. it uses gmer and other things. will still be a huge attack surface increase, but will also take care of most of her common threats.

Buy her a 2013 macbook, an ipad, or get Kapersky antivirus
>>60863039
get her ipad. she'll never want a computer after that (I speak from personal experience).
if you are too poor to buy her one, Kaspersaky's the only AV worth running.

1. hosts file blocking
2. firewall
3. content blocking by uBO
4. pretty much any free AV like MSE or Avast
