- No one who namedrops TAOCP or any of Knuth's other writing on this board has ever read any of it to completion. NO ONE.
- The Art of Unix Programming is a grab bag of useless trivia concerning "hacker culture" and the KISS philosophy and is void of any actual programming-related content.
- Real World Haskell was out of date within a year of being released. It was also a convoluted mess of a book with terrible editing and went to print with unintended compiler errors in some of the example code
- K&R is a horrible book for actually learning to be productive in C and its target audience was sceptical FORTRAN users from 40 years ago
