What do my fellows use to DJ on linux?
I have a Hercules Jogvision controller which works great in VirtualDJ, Traktor and Serato on Windows but requires javascript programming to work on Mixxx (for all platforms). I've heard Serato works great with WINE but I've had no success. If anyone knows how to get it working properly on WINE any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Anyways, post your DJ program, equipment setup and your Linux Distro and we'll start a big ol' thread about DJing on linux
enjoy your stay
heard decent thing about xwax

Nice find! do you know any programs that use xwax code to provide a standard DJing setup with use of effects and digital jogwheels?
>requires javascript programming to work on Mixxx
seems like an awful load of work for unsure results desu, you'd be better off dual-booting with windows or using cds
Traktor is an industry standard
Until Native Instruments start supporting Linux, no way.

I just got a used vci 400 dirt cheap
But I mean... there is just no good program, all I can think of on linux is mixxx and not sure how well it would even support controllers - my controller can be used for just MIDI so there's that...
I dunno, you could always build your own DJ setuo in puredata.

should take a look at jack

They use a Mac. Ever seen a DJ or an audio engineer??? It's all Macs. Not sure why

Best audio implementation of any OS.
No abstraction (bit-perfect), no drivers, allows software direct access to hardware, and allows any device to act as hardware audio. You literally plug anything in and it Just Works™

B..b..but djay pro kinda sucks (Spotify integration is nice)
>>60856820
>kinda sucks
you mean it doesn't have a lot of FX options, but that's OK if you have a external mixer
TL;DR just don't suck

Thank god for that TLDR, I almost had to read those 20 words.
