or more generally: how to get started with developing AR apps!?!?!?
>>60837854
By learning some AR/CV library?
>>60837866
yeah BUT I do need a device capable of running AR stuff, don't I?
>>60837881
Yes, you need some kind of a computer.
>>60837866
also, what AR libraries are out there? or rather, which one would you recommend?
I don't have a grand programming background. My experience so far has been limited to c# and .NET. but I'm curious to learn something new entirely if it makes sense
>>60837849
Lol
>>60837889
Oh I took for granted that apps = mobile apps. But maybe I should've made myself clearer.
>>60837895
I don't recommend any, but I've personally used ARToolkit.
>>60837908
what device did you develop for, then?
by AR I meant placing 3D graphics in live video footage of real world environments. did you do stuff like that?

I was detecting AR tags with ARToolkit, needed it for something other than AR, but also played with placing a cube on the tags.
Apple just announced (and released a beta, or something) their ARKit.
In terms of AR capabilities it's not as advanced as Tango, but it works on iPhones and iPads and does the job surprisingly well.
