Stop using KDE.
>>
Yes, this kind of shit is why I hate using Linux. You breathe on it too hard and everything breaks.
>>
>>60831346
Yeah that's why I like windows, it comes already broken

works on my machine

The kernel doesn't handle window placement. you fucking idiot.
Go look at your Desktop Environment/Window Manager settings.

I have the same setup and haven't encountered your problem OP.
>>
>>60831283
If you insist on using a stupid wm you would have to use something line devilspie to augment it.
>>
>>60831283
I'm using bspwm which is simplistic as fuck.

Windows are opened on whatever monitor I have focused.

It's just your shit's that's all retarded.
>>
>use Linux

There are no good operating systems.
>>
>>60831283
Use Wayland
>>
>>60831283

Windows does the same fucking shit. People at work piss and moan to me constantly about it. I tell them they can go back to one monitor if they don't like it. That usually shuts their annoying goddamn pieholes.

>>60831369

Lennart, plz go.

I have this problem. It's more of the fault of the monitors. They completely turn off, so Linux thinks the monitor is disconnected, so it moves the windows onto the remaining screen. If you have windows, you don't have this problem, but you may have windows on a screen that doesn't exist sometimes. Trade-offs. I think windows has it right on this one.

That's pretty retarded considering there are software solutions which address this issue in a configurable manner.

To be fair, the last time I tried moving to Linux was with Ubuntu (Hardy Heron).
>>
>>60831283

You did not. If you got far enough to configure multiple monitors then you could probably get somewhere with things in general and wouldn't be a whining bitch.
>>
>>60831283
What DE are you using?
Cinnamon (aka the best DE) literally has options for where to open a new window, and even lets you open a new window on your cursor.
