I have about 8 years of experience in the IT world, mostly learned through work. I am pretty confident in my abilities, but know that I need some sort of formal education. My boss is offering to pay for certifications, so at this point it's a no-brainer. I enjoy server infrastructure, network security and wireless communications. What certifications do you recommend for someone to like me? Right now I am thinking MCSA & Security+

It's not a bad idea starting with A+, and then using that and going into the MCSA and other CompTIA certs

CCNA then CCNA Security, possibly MCSA/RHCSA if you're into those. Don't bother with CompTIA
