Why does Intel change their sockets so often? Is it really only greed or is there a valid reason for it? Could they make the same performance improvements if they stuck to the same sockets for longer?
It's for supporting new "features", goy. You want to be left behind? I don't think so.
>socket change a year keeps the goyim in fear
(/g/ proverb)
>>60807197
>buy new cpu with socket #123456
>old motherboard from 20 years ago also has socket #123456
>put it in
>doesn't work because board is old as balls
wow!
>>60807455
What's your argument?
>>60807703
consider you have an old iphone and a new iphone (since you seem stupid enough to use an iphone)
for some reason the old charger doesn't work on the new phone because of technological advances. so, you change it, cuz da old shit don't work no more dess
>>60807739
Alright, you have an analogy, now how do you apply this to the question in OP? You should not exhibit an analogy as an argument because analogies are always extremely open to interpretation.
>>60807754
You type like a human being, why are you so stupid? Read my last sentence.
>>60807739
consider suicide
>>60807197
You'll notice that different sockets have different chipsets.
Yeah they can probably reuse the same socket but the new processors aren't likely to be reverse compatible with old chipsets.
>>60807754
>make new cpu with new features
>put in 20 years old mb with the same socket
>doesn't work
wow
>>60807771
See this is the kind of subhuman trash that I thought you were. But at least now I know you're actually retarded and not just pretending.
>>60807782
but you can't put new cpu in 20 years old motherboard, there are no intel motherboards 20 years old that have same socket as new CPUs, are you retarded?
>>60807812
Not him but it's a clearly hypothetical situation, you fucking retard.
