there is no excuse for not owning one of the many fine RPN calculators one can find on the market

it will help you solve problems faster and the world will transform into a magical mathematical playground as you realize the amazing power of keystroke RPN or RPL programming

plus you won't come off as a total newfag when you whip it out like you would with a TI or Casio

Or maybe just use MATLAB like every fucking sane person

Matlab is in a computer though, with all its distractions and bullshit and battery hogging.

A good calculator will run for weeks or months on a charge and keeps you focused on the task. Also for many programming tasks it's significantly more productive and easier.

RPN stands for Reverse Polish Notation.
It's called like that because it was invented (or popularized) by a Polish logician Jan Łukasiewicz, which ameridumb-dumbs can't pronounce.

Instead of a+b Łukasiewicz used +ab because it allowed him to ditch the parentheses.
As it turns out ab+ (or reverse of what Łukasiewicz used) is how computers do math.

In the early days an RPN calculator was a lot faster than a calculator using regular notation because translation from human a+b to ab+ which the computer was able to calculate do required a lot of resources.
