Been touch typing with them for 30 years. No cortisone yet - no discomfort either. Palm rests are fine if you use them to rest, not to type. Ergonomics is about positioning of your body to use the tool in your hand. The actual structure of the tool matters little, i.e. ergonomic guitars and pianos don't exist.

pro tip, if you dont want wrist pain, dont mash shift +4 all day all the time

No, I don't use the legs because they're proven to cause carpal tunnel a lot quicker than normal. The legs are there for plebs who don't know keyboard layouts and thus benefit from extra visibility of what each key is.
