i have lots of silicone lube on my desk
It's the one product category Razer really shines in. You can't really fuck up a mousepad. The Goliathus is a good big cloth pad, and the Sphex is a super thin hard pad that works well for people who don't need to move around much(keyboard trays and shit like that).

Scarab and Destructor II (nice and edgy names) are probably the best mousepad I've used. They're a little pricey but they last. My Steelseries 4HD wore out rather quickly, but these have lasted years now and are showing no signs of wear. Simple hard textured-surface mousepads. Sphex is nice (and cheap) but the surface underneath it needs to be completely smooth and level.
Cloth pads I never really liked; they had too much friction, for the most part.
