Not very. Though I do like having USB 3.0 on a laptop I'd feel worse without an Ethernet jack - which is, for some reason, lacking on a whole lot of modern laptops.

If I didn't have USB 3.0 on my laptop then I'd just connect external harddrives to my desktop and (s)cp files over the network.
