Trying to upgrade up a system; I am using a AMD 6100 with an 5770 which seems a little bit unreliable now. I don't want to play games but I want decent performance with the occasional graphically intensive programs. I am looking at 750ti but wondering if 730 won't be enough. Also, what kind of SSD would you recommend on top of an HDD. I am primarily concerned about reliability and longevity.

If you absolutely have to get a low end GPU, get an RX 560 or GTX 1050. 750ti, 730 and 1030 are all garbage.

Did you want to upgrade everything or are you keeping the 6100, motherboard, ram, case, psu, etc. Give us some details.

Just changing the GPU and thinking about adding an SSD. I was running an RX 270 which seemed to have gone bust; using old 5770 as substitute; Need to make computer more reliable to hardware issues. is there a compatibility issue with regard to using an AMD CPU and an Nvidia GPU ?

No, you shouldn't have any issues with an nVidia GPU. Do you happen to know your motherboard model? I don't want to suggest anything that may not work.

Also, what reliability issues are you experiencing? What OS are you running?
