How do you identify an IC?
>>60776254
Just google the code on it?
and look at the schematics if there are any

This, embrace the botnet once in a while

1st thing I tried, but Google was not my friend this time. :(

95% it's just a dual n channel mosfet package

>modern consumer electronics
>any kind of schematics, service manual or anything of this sort
I dearly miss the 80s.
>>60776254
with a lot of SMT stuff you're just screwed if it's not properly labeled
>>60776452
this is why I don't bother with modern audio/video equipment
I have a trinitron if anything fails I just replace a single transistor/ic and the thing runs for the next 10 years with no issues.
But if it's some modern device, and the power supply is working fine, then smd shit like in the op is beyond pointless with no schematic.

I remember a time way back, then the part fitted into the position/looked the same, it was the correct one.

Must have been before electronics were invented.

Certainly was. And there's nothing stopping component makers from following suit.
