I have a 22$ 10Ah Power bank with 2 USB ports. One is 5V 1A and other one is 2.1A 5V.

The power bank uses a seperate DC-DC boost converter for each USB port to step up the voltage to 5V from whatever voltage the Lithium-Ion batteries provide.

Would it be more efficient to draw 0.8-1A of power from the 1A port or 2.1A port.

tldr: When does a boost converter work more efficiencly? At 50% load or 100% load?

I have a similar setup.
The obvious thing: Make sure the RCA cables are on the right set of "audio out" plugs.

I think that I ended up getting optical-to-RCA converter box because I got a very new TV that does not easily output RCA stereo audio. The TV did have an optical audio out so I got an optical-to-RCA converter box:

https://www.amazon.com/Musou-Digital-Optical-Converter-Adapter/dp/B01AWBA8U8

Note: if you get intermittent hissing, you have to configure your TV to output PCM (mine defaults to another type). This is mentioned in the directions of that unit if you get that one too. It works great, and when I upgrade my receiver, I'll get one that can accept optical in, and then it will be pure digital audio then.
>>
>>60769115
That's what I figured but it does carry audio to the TV. It only seems to work with the built-in TV speakers though. I get audio from my speakers while I'm watching normal TV.

Could it be the cable? I bought the cheapest ones I could find.

Or maybe I just have a crappy TV, can't even chose audio output device.

There's a "setup digital audio" in the NVIDIA control panel. It probably has a more complete set of choices that make sense than the default Windows choice.

Where do Ebay sellers get their Electronics?

like how are they getting their hands on Dozens of used Gtx1080s and selling them off?
>>
>>60769328
Interesting theory, but the lack of any sources or true evidence is off putting since it all comes off as anecdotal.
Really though, I'd argue that the recent craze of weird kinks in the last 20 years is due to the internet allowing people to easily be themselves and not fear being labeled an outcast. Society use to be very conservative and opressed anything too far from the norm in sexuality, and since the flood gates are open we are seeing it actually flood out instead the actual minority it is.
>>
>>60769521
I think there are some companies who let you rent the latest video cards and get upgrades.
https://cuttingedgegamer.com/

Those ebay sellers probably buy all of those old cards wholesale and sell them individually.

Got 3 months of spotify premium for a dollar. Never used it before, but being able to DL songs instead of trying to pirate them or do youtube to mp3 shit is why i got it. Sim cards have unique identifiers to identify yourself on a cell phone network. If the sim is duped, then the other phone may send/receive data (calls and data) on the network.

Not sure how well duplicate devices will work too, like does it ring the first phone it finds on the network?
>>

Reinstalling it seems to have worked this time.
>>
>>60769564
that makes sense.

im very suspicious of Big Sellers on ebay after i got a Dead Card. First Build, First GPU every purchased, and it was Dead. After seeing ScrapeYard wars from Linus... where companies are getting Pallets of junk and reselling it.. i can only guess where these GPUs are coming from. Ran into a stream last night of a dude with Dozens of Graphics Cards mining Crypto Currency..... those are also likely flooding the used market.

only somewhat safe better if buying from a small person that is upgrading... but they dont have return policies..........

if anyone is interested you can get a GTX 1080 on ebay for around $430 every few hours.

>only somewhat safe better if buying from a small person that is upgrading
I think this is a safer bet buying a used card because a person selling a card they bought is less likely to burn the card up so they can get some money back.

I doubt the wholesalers are testing anything. If I was mining cryptocurrency or playing cards via a lease service, I'll just upgrade when the card starts melting

newegg has new GTX 1080's starting at $499
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487252

I'd wonder how much utilization (% GPU used, hours of use) those eBay cards had too.

Chipset usually refers to your motherboard and cpu. i dont know if amd has their own way of updating, but you might have to update your motherboards bios.

your graphics card has its own drivers.

I have two desktop towers I want to use, however I only want one set of mouse/keyboard on my desk.

Is there a USB hub switcher I can buy, that will let me plug in my mouse and keyboard, and have the hub connect to the two PCs with a switch so I can decide which PC to control at a given time?

Okay so I've been having this problem for maybe a year or two. Sometimes, if I'm doing something big, my computer will just freeze. Just freeze up completely unexpectedly. Sometimes it might be when I'm playing a big game, like Team Fortress 2, or it could happen if I'm just playing something on my internet browser like Town of Salem. Sometimes it would even freeze while I'm not playing anything at all, but just have some tabs open and a few programs in the background, namely Skype, Discord, and Steam. It also happens during other tasks, like if I try to render a video in Adobe Premiere.

At first I thought it'd be because I haven't dusted it in a long time, so yesterday I went and got as much dust as I could out of it all. I think it may have run better, but I still freeze up. I downloaded a temperature tracker today, booted up TF2 and decided to see how long it lasts and when it crashes.

I crashed within five or less minutes of playing, and I kept the temperature tracker in the window next to it. I assume that Tj. Max is the maximum temperature that my computer can handle, and if it reaches close to that point, it freezes itself to prevent damage. The image here is exactly when it froze up. My computer's temperature was at 183 and the Tj. Max is 194. I'll even assume that the program takes a second or two to refresh, so my computer could very well be at 194.

My question is, is there any way I can prevent all this freezing from happening? Perhaps somehow raise my Tj. Max? Several years ago my computer never did anything like this, but it is.

I have no idea what I'm using. I'll try HWMonitor.
>>
>>60771951
yea, that's way too hot

dismantle the heatsink/fan entirely
replace the thermal paste
completely remove all dust, you either need to a good air compressor or to remove the fan and use a brush
ensure all fans, including case fans, and working properly
>>
>>60771954
Yeah, I'm the projector guy. What do you mean distance matters? As long as I get the throw ratio fine and get the lens to focus, it's fine right?
>>
>>60771999
I said that because your photo was blurry as fuck, not because it was part of the problem.

Anyway post a screenshot of HWmonitor while your CPU is under load/Stress.
Try using CPU-Z to put it under stress.

HWMonitor will tell you both CPU temperature and Fan speed, your heatsink fan is going bad probably, 90°C is too hot for a CPU that is not overclocked, even for the shittiest AMD CPUs.

Too old. The only possible upgrades would be RAM and SSD, but with that CPU and DDR3 freq, they're not gonna help much if at all. >>
>>60772127
Oh does it actually bother to stretch the last 80 pixels? I would have thought that it could just cut it off and put black bars, so that there would be no scaling issues.

You shouldn't be afraid, its not that hard.
The hardest part will be cleaning paste.

A new tube of paste should be $5 tops (NT-H1, MX-4, Arctic silver 5).
You will need a bottle of isopropyl alcohol to remove the old paste.
And carefully since your old paste will be rigid as fuck and will be like glue.

How does it work if I first started at around 12, straight into bestiality, then went to asians, into lesbians, out of lesbians because although many are really pretty, shit's more fake than a 3 dollar bill, into squirting, into jailbait (at around 15 yo, in the deep web - also disgusted by hard candy, and cherry picked each video among hundreds, where the girl seemed actually into it, and not just being forced or whatever), into threesome and creampie, then hentai (more for shits and giggles since I had gotten into anime and the whole nip culture shit only then, but since it was somewhat arousing, meh, why not fap while at it?), into orgy (e.g. Czech creampie gangbang), lost my V-card without any problems or fetishes, then entered cruise mode fapping to 15% asians, 20% default porn, 20% three+some, 5% hentai, 10% cams, 20% creampie, 10% just imagination, around 3 times a week, having sex whenever possible, never having a problem giving or receiving pleasure, getting aroused by just the sight of something sexy with a woman, lasting long enough to fulfill her needs, then finishing myself. Also, always been disgusted by traps, gay, bbc, interracial, furry, bdsm, anal (although less as time passed), monster, alien, scat and shit along those lines.

If you go ahead and try it yourself, carefully release the heatsink from the base unlocking it then using a screwdriver to drive it out of the locking lugs, then try making it budge carefully by twisting and rocking sideways until it gives. If you try just pulling out, you may bring the CPU attached, and maybe even rip either pins or the entire socket. After that, just be careful with the CPU, because the pins are really easy to bend. I usually clean the CPU in-place carefully with paper tissue imbued with isopropyl, and maybe a small drop of it over the CPU to help dissolve the dried paste. The heatsink is pretty straightforward to clean.
To finish up, grab one from
>pic related
And apply a really small amount to the CPU and spread with a credit card until you have a really thin coating all over the heatspreader.
Reapply the heatsink, carefully with the screwdriver push the locks into the base lugs, then lock it up.

Now, according to pic related, you could even go with mayonnaise for paste if you're desperate, and clean it up and reapply every other day, but it will probably leave grease all over your CPU, maybe even the pins, and could possibly damage something entirely. I wouldn't do, but since it's there...

Using a pointer changes a mutable value into a mutable location for a mutable value, which makes screwing up four times as easy. You may never fully eliminate them. Embedded systems' on chip resources may have to be accessed by pointers, depending on the manufacturer's support libraries. Sometimes you may find that you need to use them shrink code enough to fit in the program storage space available. Otherwise, using them for elegance's sake is a luxury for people working with gigs of RAM and storage, not kilos of them.

I'll order some thermal paste within the next few days. I'm sure I could manage to clean it. It's just that I've spent hundreds of bucks on this thing so obviously I'd be a little worried about how I treat it. I definitely won't use anything stupid like Mayo or Toothpaste, though. Especially not chocolate.

I'm just curious, what do the red cleaners in this graph mean? And also the numbers. I assume I should stay around 32-35 as much as I can.

The numbers are the difference in °C between the CPU and the air inside the case. The red bars are something to do with newly added compounds around that time. It's good to note that this graph is from 5 years ago, and while most products are still available, there may be new ones that end up in the top half. It's just that I think this one's the most inclusive graph.

Theres a lot of ways to write code and its not that difficult to get it to do what you want unless you're literally doing cutting edge research. You should always write code as clear as possible. Sometimes more verbose is worst for understandability, but usually it isn't. Storing source is cheap. Neat tricks are for code golf or when you're literally trying squeeze every little bit of performance out of your code.

I own a car workshop, because its loud we have a bell attached to the phone, the bell and the phone (telephone cables) attach to a splitter that goes in our phone line. Phone rings, so does the bell.

Now, BT have upgraded us and it means our phone needs to be changed to Cloud, this means that our phone now plugs into our BT router instead of the phone-line.

Does anyone know how we get the bell working in all of this, I am going to pop down the shop and spend a few quid on getting an adapter that makes the Bells connector from phone into RJ-45, then get a 2-1 RJ-45 splitter and put the phone and the bell into the router, sort of like how it was before. No idea if it will work, but worth a try for a few quid.

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Looking at headphone amps and dacs and stuff like that, they have their individual frequency ranges, something like 20Hz-20KHz for example.

Do regular pc motherboards have a similar or different specific frequency range? If you were to just connect your headphones to the 3,5mm port on the motherboard, are you gimping yourself in that regard? Or can it be possible that a dac would provide a worse range than using just the mobo?
>>
>>60775153
DACs in general have been basically perfected for a long time now
the only difference you could possibly run into between a mobo's dac and an external one is that an external one is isolated from the rest of the internals
that is, it may have less inteference, as it's further away from stuff that can intefere with it

Is it an NVME SSD? If so, does your mobo support NVME? FYI, just because you have a M.2 slot doesn't mean you have NVME support. Many laptops, for example, only support SATA over M.2.

I still recommend an addon over built in zoom, because you get more zoom levels. Though it only matters for smaller high resolution screens (at higher zoom levels FF goes in very big jumps like 30%).
I really like adjusting every page so no space on edges is wasted.

I have a Z97X-Gaming 3 and the intel site says Gigabyte Z97X SLI* work BUT
You must enable the uEFI* mode setting to successfully use the Intel® SSD 600p

How do i do that?
>>
>>60776205
It should be called boot mode, or something like that. Look around in the BIOS setup menu. It's possible that your OS won't be able to boot with UEFI, which means you might have to reinstall everything, but I'm not sure.
>>
>>60776339

I don't even want windows to boot from it, got it so cheap I that I bought it to use as a steam library. I already have windows on an SSD.

The threat of getting caught pirating is if you use the internet to pirate the DMCA content?

I mean if I use USB flash drives and such should be safe?

If you're selling shit in large quantities they can track you down, but normally just exchanging files physically isn't something they go after. Streaming things from websites has been fine so far. The reason p2p gets a lot of attention is because it's easy to track and each participant is also an up loader by nature. All you have to do though is use a VPN or seedbox. Also you're using the word "DCMA" wrong. It's a kind of request you can submit if you want someone to remove your copyrighted material.

I am living at home while I finish up my Degree and have been trying to sort out my parent's internet for them. They have a two story house, and ALL our electronics (Wifi/Stereo/Modem/Cable Box) are in an upstairs cabinet. My Father complans about slower and spotty wifi so I suggested getting a powerline adapter.

While looking through their "Entertainment" Center I noticed all the plugs were taken. I know nothing about circuits/power but, if I were to buy a power strip, and plug a couple of plugs from the occupied outlets into a powerstrip it would not adversly affect performance correct?

They have the right to see the content of my USB flash drive?

What if I have a folder contain a series of images of me riding up bad dragons?

Can't they arrest me for not decrypting it?
>>
>>60777056
You could overdraw the rated amperage for the circuit and trip the circuit breaker (or blow a fuse if you're in destitute impoverishedistan).
Simply put, it would either work or not work.
>>
>>60777056
The only thing you want to avoid is attaching the powerline adapter to an extension/strip. It should go directly into the wall. However they're not always reliable even when set up correctly, so I would consider updating the router or running ethernet first.

>>
>>60777090
The answer to all questions is "it depends on the two countries you're dealing with". Usually they have a right to go through your shit, but not to force you to decrypt it. If you care though, look it up. You might have to deal with a little extra heat if they do start digging through your shit and you refuse. Helps to know the law.

Anyway I doubt they would try to see what you have on flash drive.
They don't look what is on your laptop or phone either.
Maybe 0.001% chance if they are very bored.
Though most likely forcing you to decrypt it would be illegal.

If you are really scared my advice though is just google it if it ever happened.

Anyway this shit's stupid, I'd rather be scared about the plane falling down, it's more probable.
>>
>>60777356
I don't know much about it but my best guess is because gaming does less in parallel and so the CPU speed is most important whereas other tasks take better advantage of parallelism so more cores/threads is better there. Just my guess.

I'm trying to play games in wine. However, when I hit a key, the game doesn't respond to it, and instead is typed as text in the nearest searchbar/text document that Linux can find/. For example, if the file browser is open, instead of the game reacting to the f-key, "f" is typed into the search bar in the file browser. What the fuck do I do? It's made some games unplayable.

Whatever floats your boat.
Not needed unless you are on private trackers.
Even then you can abuse freeleach to improve ratio.
Most seedboxes have some transfer limit and cost more. Look a few up and choose what you need for your particular case.

Visual Studio is a powerful IDE, which, in the beginning, can be seen as a disadvantage, since for most people the more there is helping you the less you learn. You needn't leap onto to a new OS, to start, but do consider working through your early exercises with just the command line tools. Save the IDE for later, when you're past the basics of programming.

Pretty much every nation powerful enough to enforce its borders, and few others, reserve to right to examine everything you bring across and its contents, up to and including requiring you to provide passwords or have your device seized. Never take your only copy of something over the border, never take anything you don't want your mom to see displayed in the courtroom with you, and don't forget to look up how to hide a partition within an encrypted partition full of junk. If you can get a server of your own up and running, move the encrypted data over the border via the 'net instead.

Eastern Europe.
We even had official government statement that DLing music, movies and books is perfectly legal because you have no legal obligation to check whether the person distributing them is allowed to distribute them.
Torrents are still technically illegal, but nobody went to prison for using them.
Only people distributing massive amounts of copyrighted stuff who make money off it get busted. Still iirc they only get a few years.
It's not dangerous like e.g. Germany where some people get life for torrenting.
