Just bought this router the other day at a yard sale for like $5. Guy had no idea what it was, called it an "internet drive". Powers on and the web settings are accessible without any problem.

How is this router for the basic shit, like gaming, some torrenting, and keeping a hard drive connected for backups?

Is the stock firmware fine? Or should I load third party shit into it (although, I can't find any clear documentation on getting any firmwares loaded on it).

For comparison, I'm using an Apple Time Capsule (5th gen) as my main router.
