I'm very interested in it...
I'm currently learning C++ just so I can get a foothold into the "C" line of programming languages so I can modify open source software on Linux, but I've heard some people criticize it.
People criticize it because it's not especially fast and "Python has more libraries!", but it's insanely fun to write in and very very easy to learn.
It has a lot of application in system deployment and management, and Rails is pretty decent, but don't expect to be building big applications with it.
It's a meme
Now there are good memes mind you, but that doesn't mean that they aren't memes
Whether ruby is a good meme or not is debatable
Alright, thanks. I think I'll stick with C++ then.

Check out Crystal.

He's specifically saying he's not using windows you mongoloid

It's even more pointless than Swift

this and I fucking hate windows
you need crossplatform-ness

It's a fun language. If you want to get into webdev, rails is probably one of the easiest way to get started.
>>60766341
its good if you like codes of conduct

no point of a program that can not be distributed to fellow windows friends.
The only point of using crystal right now is writing cli software (no decent gui/web tools), and the lack of windows support is fatal.
if programming languages had a personality it would be an SJW hipster.

all hipsters have already left ruby for rust/nodejs
