The instant they figured out how to get rid of ChromeOS I was running Ubuntu and never looked back. Even when I was using ChromeOS, Firefox was my browser.

this desu
I have no idea why anyone would want to run chrome OS honestly when Ubuntu and other more fleshed out distros exist.

How the hell did you run Firefox on Chrome OS? Android app?
>>60762243
This was in early 2011, far before running Android apps on ChromeOS was even a thought. I had to flip the dev mode switch or whatever it's called and manually install the Linux binary

Sneaky. Technically ChromeOS is just a Linux "distro" so no surprise that worked. How was the performance on it?

It was what you'd expect out of a single core Atom with SMT, actually pretty decent. My current laptop died and I'm thinking of replacing it with another Cr-48.

>Linux binary
Doesn't Firefox use Portage?

If you meant to ask about ChromeOS, no, at the time it was Ubuntu based.
Why would you want an OS where you can't do 10% of what you can do on Windows, Linux or macOS?
I bet you would love the new iPad Pro
