I don't know what this means. Please explain. Also if your longevity is fucked just take out a bunch of loans you're never going to pay back. Normally I would consider this immoral but because the banks are so severely leveraged as it is and all of the fractional reserve fuckery that's going to collapse it's basically like free money.

This is going to be a fucking ambitious project but is it at all feasible to take an SKX013 and:

1. upgrade to a 6R15 (or otherwise)
2. domed sapphire
3. New bezel and insert
4. New hands

Is this ridiculous ?
>>
>>60756299
Ah The case is iso certified so i wouldn't change the sapphire. Bezel inserts are easy to change no need for new bezel. hands and movement are not challenging. That sounds cool as long as you don't spend too much.

Na but i built a few watches and modded a few watches. I have the tools you would need as well. You will need to order some tools to properly mod your watch. If you are just swapping movements and hands i would probably get a hand press a hand removal tool some plastic to protect the dial a pair of good brass tweezers a thin plastic pry tool and some micro mm screw drivers.
>>
>>60756811
you can use some cheap plastic pipettes to put on hands ziplock as the plastic a sanded guitar pick as the pry tool but the tweezers you do really need and the screwdriver you need for the ne15 stem removal.

>Old money still really doesn't do this.
and you'd know i suppose lol

this regurgitation of the "oh mustn't wear a watch when in formal attire" is propagated by style guides and other crap people constantly parrot and pass around.
it's a petit bourgeois mentality to ape what they think people with money and higher social status do, so they make a point of stating this "rule" after reading about it somewhere or other, when in reality nobody follows this convention anymore
>seiko
i didn't even get that far in that retard's post

>>60759776
Yeah, my dad got this for me in Hong Kong when I was like 9 (back then you could get them cheaper there). It's very dated. They've been making them for years, they still have a version of it now.
>>
>>60759988

When I was younger older people still very much followed this convention. Again at this point not many but SOME people still do. It is not a style guide rule it a real social rule that was followed for quite some time after the popularization of wrist watches. Also wearing a sports watch with formal attire is garish which I believe was the whole point of the original post.
>>
>>60759988
This is from formal to less formal:

-Actual formal attire (white tie/black tie) is a tradition that goes back to a time before wristwatches, so you wear a pocket watch with that.

-Suits (=matching jacket and pants) are more modern, so a dress watch is appropriate.

-A blazer is somewhat more casual than a suit jacket, and is supposed to exude a distinctly marine style. This calls for something that matches the traditional marine blue fabric and gold cuff links, i.e. something relatively garish.

-Sports jackets are casual and trendy, so you could wear something like a nice tool or dive watch and it would complement it perfectly.

Can anyone recommend where I can buy a high quality SWISS grade fake rolex watch, the sort thats costs around £300-£500? I need something to wear to the office that people who own full priced Rolex watches will not spot as undocumented.

Im looking something that really feels like the real deal not some nasty asian/jap knock off

Thank you all.

PS. Before anyone says google it, google is rifle with homage watch sites so I was hoping for a recommendation.

>>
>>60764053

WHY though, as long as the watch works and does not fall apart what is the problem with an undocumented rolex?
>>

Alright well I can almost guarantee no one will care either way and if they do know it's a fake then you're really embarrassed. ESPECIALLY if they know it's an expensive fake.

>>60764098
>no one will care
This so hard. No one is going to judge you based on your watch, and it will NOT help you fit in.
If anything seeing you with a respectable watch within your means will make the most sense to them. And if they're a watchfag they'll respect it.

>>60764087
>WHY though
see;
>>60764098
>and if they do know it's a fake then you're really embarrassed. ESPECIALLY if they know it's an expensive fake.
You're so fucked if you get a fake and someone knows.
Plus if you're in an office and a lot of people have them and YOU can't afford it they'll pretty much assume yours is fake.
And if it looks pretty good, they'll know you spent a lot on a fake.
It's just bad looks man. You know you'll be watercooler talk.

I mean you work in an office so you must make something. Save up. I'm a poorass grad. student and waiter on the weekends. I save $100 a month for investing and $100 for a good watch. It takes a while, but I have over 4k saved in my watch fund. If it's a little at a time, you don't really notice a hit. Just save up.

And how savvy are you? Can you actually do this or are you just nuts?

Either way, need to know what he likes, cause if he only wears it around you, because it was a present from you, you'll never get your intel.

I don't even care about that, if this is a real piece of history I just want to put it in a cabinet and display it, not trying to screw or scalp anyone, can't let it be melted down

No just wear it as a Steinhart. From a distance it will look like a Submariner but it's not an actual fake.

Are there any watches that are gay cruising signals?

There were in the 70s, I am looking for something to help me hook up
>>
>>60767306
Literally just watchmakeranon (at) gmail. He hasn't shown up in these threads for quite a while though, so I assume he's busy with irl shit.
>>
>>60767509
Thanks, I just could have sworn there was a number that I wasn't sure of, guess I wasn't sure, because there was no number.
And yeah, I know. Not going to email him, just it's good to have on hand, in case he starts posting again.

I mean he might be posting, but not namefagging.
2spooky.

Besides a rolex, what is a reasonably classy watch (not something solid gold with diamonds or anything like that) that really just gives off a "fuck you I am rich" vibe. Like taking the Rolex thing to the next level, something someone who wears Rolex can't afford

Just came into a bunch of money and I want fuckers to know the score

see to me this just looks like a guy is wearing a weird watch, I would never know it was expensive by looking at it

I want a real "fuck you" watch
>>
>>60767738
Rich people don't have cash lying around anon, that's for poors and drug dealers
>>
>>60767790
>I would never know it was expensive by looking at it

You would if you saw that ALS in person. The movement is also drop dead gorgeous, pictures can't really do it justice.
