Exel is one of the most little known, but powerful compilers you can possibly program in Windows. I started out doing some small projects in it, but I finally did a fizzbuzz

OP is wise. No coder who ever accomplished anything of value learned how to code by earning good boy points on code academy.

I got good at Excel by developing algorithms to predict player performance in daily fantasy sports leagues. Though the same principle would apply for predicting the stock market too.
