God, what a good year 2013 was for MacBooks. The 2013 MBA switched from MagSafe 1 to 2, and boasted several hours of battery life more than its predecessor. Then Mavericks came along and added a couple more hours to that, along with revamped external display functionality.

That's a pretty interesting argument that I actually haven't heard before. I'm actually going to now start objecting to people saying "Android phone". my laptop is older, from 2008, i don't use it for a whole lot, so it has minimal -even at the time- upgrades
still, it's core2duo is still perfect capable cpu for common tasks, 1G ram is a bit low by todays standards, though it's not low enough to stop me from running things i want to run, just how many things i can run at once. of course the machine can take more ram, which i'll probably do at some point
