Are these prices for real? What the fuck happened?
>>60734533
DDR4 chips started going into phones and laptops, the demand went way up, and the prices went up accordingly.
Phones now want a shit ton of ram
cartel happened
>>60734533
Chips are drying up for SSD/RAM demands. China is investing in new factories for the rising needs.
That happened is they used up all the precious goods for shitty stuff like android/windows phones.
samsung also reduced their global mem prod output
Good thing I bought 48gb worth a while back.
Shoulda gonna the full 96

AMD's special snowflake CPUs

I'm sitting here with 8GB of RAM. It's painful. I'm not paying $50 for 8GB of GEIL autism RBG RAM
When I built my computer last year I got 8GB thinking I'd just get another 8 if it wasn't enough because it's dirt cheap. On the bright side I'm not really struggling with 8.

Its posts like these that remind me that /g/'s autism has no upper limit

that's ddr3 tho

DDR4 is going into phones now.
>>60734860
The board only supports 1800 or something. I'm also overclocking them, and they are in triple channel
>>60734903
It's more expensive because it doesn't have the same demand and economies of scale as DDR4. Even my company (we make servers) will be using DDR4 on our lowest end product that will also be using a 64-bit Realtek processor. It's all been 32-bit Marvell stuff w/ DDR3 RAM on the low end but times have finally changed
>>60734533
>tfw paid $120 for 32gb of ddr3 in 2013
How is ram MORE expensive now, but I'm starting to see 1tb hard drives for $30?
>>60734673
>>60734860
That's DDR3.
>>60735739
RAM and HDD are totally different things

Fuck capitalism.
