Serious reply: C#
Just google some tutorials and watch some videos if you're into that. Can't really recommend anything. Tutorialspoint have some great ones though

This is good advice. Learn C# as well as you can, then start into ASP.NET. Then pick up a trendy javascript front-end framework.

You'll never go hungry--if you get started soon enough and build a robust portfolio and get into contact with a consulting/recruiting firm you could skip the whole college scam altogether.

If you don't like the thought of hitching your wagon to Microsoft products you could trade C#/ASP.NET for Java/SpringMVC

Should have add: make sure you pick up SQL at some point, then work out how to use an ORM (Entity Framework in the case of C#).

for learning about programming in general: Java. It gets shit on a lot but it has the best balance between learning real programming concepts while not requiring you to autistically manage every single component of your program. do NOT learn python before you are comfortable with java. python is an extremely easy language to learn but it is full of hacky shortcuts that you have to be very careful with, and there are no shortage of shitty "coders" who can only write in python and *surprise* write garbage code

for managing lots of data: SQL. it is the standard for managing databases and will be for the foreseeable future. it deserves special attention because it is more of an "information retrieval" language

for doing web development: HTML, javascript and CSS. these things all work together in web development and most online tutorials will teach them all together

ok thanks for replies bros

So you can either start low-level with Stuff like C / x86Assembly and work you way up, or high-level like Python / Haskell and work your way down
