i can already see a couple of downsides:
>if your secret is compromised, anyone can derive your passwords, as opposed to a regular password manager where you also need the encrypted database file as well
>whatb would happen if you wanted to change the password for one of your accounts? you'd be forced to append some identifier to the username and then remember that as well
Pretty good, a lot better and more secure than centralized and proprietary password managers.
It just needs to be a browser extension or such so it's acctually convenient.
Less secure than a encrypted database, but more convenient. I don't think the extra security is needed since the main threats to security is leaked databases and social engineering(including phishing) and this is resistant to both.
