Are you using the greatest editor/developing environment of all time?
It has a pretty ridiculous learning curve but there are multiple starter distros like prelude/spacemacs to get you up and running and used to the environment.

I use vim, it's not my fault your editor is bloated trash that is slowly becoming obsolete bloated trash because of newer bloated trash like atom, vs, gedit, sublimetext etc..

Default, evil, xah-fly, your own, other?
I do because org mode and tramp.

I've been trying out spacemacs for the past few weeks (vim/tmux users for years) and I'm not convinced
It's just way slower. Just having two 100 line file buffers open next to each other makes scrolling laggy

I see the appeal of ricing it to oblivion, tab completion is better than anything in vim, magit is the best git wrapper and org mode is the shit, but an editor just must have better editing performance than this

i use a customized evil setup
it makes the transition from vim a lot easier and desu makes a lot more sense for actually editing text
