what are the benefits exactly?

VimFx
>>
>>60710505
I'd like to know why, too

I've heard it recommended over httpseverywhere before, but I haven't seen any reasoning yet

Let's you convert password dots into actual characters

https everywhere uses lists and slows down the browser, smart https doesn't have that problem

Does /g/ use FF personas? If yes, which?

ublock is gods gift to mankind

Tree style tabs without a doubt. Upped my capacity from handling 10 tabs max to about a hundred or so

Some alternatives

Cookie AutoDelete - SelfDestructing Cookies compatible with multiproces and Firefox 57+
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/cookie-autodelete/

Violentmonkey - Greasemonkey compatible with multiproces and Firefox 57+
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/violentmonkey/
>>
>>60711101
>Violentmonkey - Greasemonkey compatible with multiproces and Firefox 57+

any point of using this? because GM is multiprocess compatible.
>>
>>60711101
Pale Moon - firefox compatible with single process addons and Firefox 56-
>>
>>60711149
I read that greasemonkey wont be compatible with 57+

Do you really need both

Might as well ask here. I can't use smart https because for some reason I can't see any of the options checkboxes. I tried to disable addons, remove prefs.js to bring all settings to default, but it still doesn't work. I have the latest Nightly. Someone else having the same issue? I've always used httpseverywhere but I kinda want to change.

As for my "mandatory" addons:
httpseverywhere (for now)
ublock origin
umatrix
decentraleyes
canvasblocker
no resource uri leak
privacy settings
pure url
greasemonkey
styleRRR
>>
>>60712624
Yes - There is some overlap maybe, but they do do different things and are used differently.
You all should of course be using uBlock Origin btw.
>>
VimFx, Smart HTTPS, Decentraleyes and uBlock
>>
>>60710931
this

httpseverywhere packages a fucking sqlite db in their addon file, filled with regexes that match urls to regexes that transform said urls to site-specific https equivalents

Once I discovered that, it made a lot of sense to me that it would bog down firefox so much

>Greasemonkey

>>60711340
Tampermonkey is out and works beautifully on FF, plus it's 57 compatible.
>>
>>60711149
It isn't, for example if you open new threads on new tabs here with the 4chanX option for it enabled on greasemonkey, firefox won't open new processes for those tabs.
>>
Violent monkey or teampermonkey? tamper has a custom license and violent is under MIT like greasemonkey
>>
Is it just me or adblock plus is getting more useless by the minute the last few days?
