thoughts on solidworks?

Probably the wrong forum, but it's easily the best 3D modeling program available. It's not the best for analysis, but if you want something that is fast and easy to design with it's the best.
Well, it has a nice driveshaft cutaway, but it doesn't look graphically realistic and their logo could use some work.

Pretty good program for 3D modeling, shit for everything else.

Bbbut... Autodesk
Awesome 3D modeling program, has it quirks.
Horrendous on Nvidia GeForce cards

>3D modelling
Great

It's good enough for most standard solid metallic pieces and pretty easy for beginners, but there are WAY better programs out there and it's mostly a black box.
>Rendering
Good enough.

You can make models that look like that in solid works. The rendering and slicing ability are really good.

I haven't had any problems yet.

Haven't tried it yet, but I have heard good things.

This sums up the program quite nicely. For FEA you would want to export it to something like Ansys.
Pic related is something I designed and printed in solid works. It's very easy to work with and export for 3D printing if that's your thing.

Autismdesk teapotmax?
It's pretty solid and it just works

>Government doesn't trust France, our ally, so it made it's own solidworks to protect secrets and stuff
>It's not user friendly, not at all
Creo can do more, I'll give it that. But Solidworks can do a lot while being much nicer to learn.

Creo
>shitty at 3D modeling
>mediocre at FEA
Solid Works
>god like 3D modeling
>mediocre at FEA
I know which one I would choose.
