My personal experience with comments column is when there are a lot of different similar versions and you don't know which one to look first (HS discarded, of course). Then you happen to have 8 entries with 0-2 comments and one with 9 and in that one there happens to be a comparison posted... This happens more commonly with movies (Aurumn, THORA, REVO, AFRO, etc.) even though it is still once every bluemoon... I understand it is not much of an advantage at all, but still much more than, say... DL counts... THOSE are utterly useless...
My (completely lowest priority) idea would be to make the choice of what columns are showed and in what order (for those people who for some reason wanted to have categories in the middle, for example) available in the user's config.
