Post your component list; rate other anons'; ask questions in general.

>Assemble your parts list with price comparisons & compatibility filter.
https://pcpartpicker.com/

THEN state the PURPOSE of your PC & BUDGET. State COUNTRY if not USA.
List GAMES/SOFTWARE you use often. List resolution & hz if gaming.
Seeking build improvements? Clarify goal: lower price or improved specs?
ctrl+f to see if your question was answered already

>How to assemble a PC, select components & more. (somewhat outdated)
https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Build_a_PC

CPUs:
>G4560 - budget builds (<$500) unless G4600/G4620/i3-7100 is heavily discounted
>R5 1500x - generally all you need for 60fps with power to spare. No i5
>R5 1600 - best value for higher fps gaming & mixed usage; 1600x if you too lazy to OC
>i7-7700k - bad value but good for higher FPS; may have heat issues
>R7/Xeon/Threadripper/i9 - compute/Multitask/mixed use

Graphics:
>G4560 iGPU is fine for desktop stuff and very light game
>1050/Ti for low budget. Drop settings if not Freesync/Gsync on newer games; RX560 if discounted
>RX570 4GB - 1080p@60+hz, running most maxed; older games at 144+hz
>RX580 8GB - 1440p@60+hz, inject SMAA & drop settings
>1060 - Generally outperformed by the RX 580 and GSync costs more; consider if AMD is not an option (ie CUDA)
>1070 - 1080p@90-144hz/1440p@100+hz
>1080 - 1080p@100-144+hz maxed; 1440p at lower hz.
>1080Ti - 1440p@90-144+hz; 4k@60hz in SOME games, more at lower settings
>Freesync2 & Vega soon

General:
>READ PRODUCT REVIEWS to see if that cheap SSD/PSU or whatever is reliable
>Consider larger SSD-only for what you budget SSD+HDD combined. Add HDD later once needed
>NVMe aren't for faster OS boot. They're primarily for productivity as a scratch disk
>Stop confusing any M.2 drive with NVMe. M.2 is a form factor
>Go mATX form factor for cheaper board+case
>1 SR DIMM is slower than 2 DIMMs
>>
>>60686864
>>PG279Q is just a MG279Q that costs twice as much because Gsync-idiot-tax.
I want Gsync tho

How do they clean up the solder once it's delidded?

Just built my new pc so I got some shit left over.

Got a:
i7 4790k
2 old vid cards (760's)
850w PSU that I thought was dead, but I think it's ok, mobo was the problem.
8gb ddr3 ram

So just need a cheap as shit mobo and case and maybe a psu since 850w will be too much.

Any suggestions for case and mobo? Pcpartpicker doesn't even have any 1150 mobos listed, but they still have them on newegg etc.

Apparently a good RX470 or RX570 that can BIOS flash for close to 30MH/s are selling for $400 on ebay now.
>>
Uggh! I finally decide to start buying my pieces, and I find that SuperBiiz is out of all their Rx 570's, and there's no note for when they expect to get more.
Has this been happening with these GPU's? How long can I expect to wait until I can order one?

Here's my revised gaming PC build. I went from the Ryzen 7 to a Ryzen 5, and brought down the specs for the GPU, as well as added a higher quality monitor. What do you think?

Old Build: (incase it matters) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KPVBpb)

New Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nRnGzM

Please don't let me fuck up lads
>>
>>60687106
I'm pretty new to the whole cryptocurrency concept. So are they scalping the cards to make a profit?
>>
So my monito has a "No signal" error when I hook up my hdmi cable to my newly built pc. I tried hooking it up to the motherboard but I heard AMD stuff doesn't have onboard graphics so no idea. I tried moving the ram, removing the gpu, holding the power button when it's off. Don't know what else to do.
>>
>>60687170
You didn't need to downgrade the GPU if you didn't want to, a 1070 is a solid choice for a 1600 system. It just depends on how much performance you want.
>>
>>60687171
They are scalping cards to mine for new cryptocurrency hoping it will be the next bitcoin and make a profit. Mining bitcoin at this point in time has diminishing returns already. Unless you are running a large scale operation.
>>
>>60687170
Ditch the keyboard/mice and just use whatever you have. If you want, invest in really good mice and keyboard, don't get mid of the road shit. A good keyboard will last you way longer than your current PC or new build will.
>>
>>60687172
Could be any number of issues.
Try different ports and keep trying to reseat things but if that doesnt work you're going to need a working graphics card or another working computer to put your graphics card in to know for sure what's the problem.
If you dont have that get a friend or take it into a shop.
>>
>>60687189
It was just a matter of price, I wanted to stay in the range of $1,200, give or take $100. How much of a difference is a 1070 vs a 1060? Would it be worth saving for?
>>
>>60687170
You don't need the thermal paste, the cooler will have some preapplied that's decent enough unless you've got the 'tism.

You should still go with the 1070 if you're doing 1440p though. The 1060 6GB seems like it's gonna do best at 1080p, for 1440 you'll want something more.

Also don't forget an SSD for your windows install. You only need about 120gb, so you should be able to get one really cheap.
>>
>>60687172
First thing to check.
Is your GPU fan spinning? If it is, that means it is powered. If it is outputting no signal, try another port. If not it is fucked.
>>
>>60687216
>How much of a difference is a 1070 vs a 1060? Would it be worth saving for?
Huge. Yes.
>>
>>60687212
I've been using some standard HP mice and keyboard that came with my HP Pavilion, I figured these would be a decent upgrade, right?
>>
>>60687222
GPU fan spinning means it gets power, but it always means doesn't mean it gets enough to work properly. My R9 280 doesn't work at all if the PCIe power cables aren't connected, but the fans do start spinnin
>>
>>60687238
Keep using what you have till it breaks. No need to waste that money. If you want to upgrade, upgrade to shit that you won't need to ever upgrade again till it breaks aka a good mechanic keyboard and a good mouse. My Filco has been with me for 6 years now and it is still as good as the day I bought it.
>>
I got that powercolor 580 that was just in stock. Are they a good brand?
>>
>>60687255
I get that but I assume even beginner builders know how to plug in all the required cables for the PSU and that should be the first thing they check anyway.
>>
>>60687262
Yes
Their Red Dragon is a very meh of a card though, but their more expensive Red Devil is pretty great
>>
>>60687262
Their cheap cards are get what you pay for tier but their top cards are usually quite good.
>>
>>60687267
Dope I got the red devil
>>
>>60687262
Decent. I swear by Sapphire but if you are in a hurry, Powercolor is fine. Personally I will wait for the Vega to force a price drop.
>>
Would it be worth it to purchase a GTX 970 if I can get one for $100? I'm currently sitting with a 960, and I'm wondering if I should shell out the money for another last gen card.
>>
>>60687288
Building from scratch so I got nothing to hold out on besides a clapped out laptop that's running overwatch rendered at 45% struggling to get 30 fps
>>
>>60687217
>Also don't forget an SSD for your windows install
Can't I just use a boot disk or an external hard drive?
I don't really see why an SSD is needed, unless you mean for it to be used during BIOS.
Sorry if I'm being an idiot, I'm only getting a grasp on this stuff.
>>
>>60687308
Build a PC. Beg for a spare GPU someone has lying around and then wait. Or at least that is what I did before. If you are willing to forgo the price drop then get it now.
>>
>>60687315
It's more of a general speediness thing. Even a cheap SSD makes a windows 10 install fly. They are really, really worth it.

But yeah, the SSD would be your boot disk. So you'd install all your other applications on the larger 2TB HDD that's on your list.
>>
>>60687266
>>60687255
>>60687222
It has enough power. my PSU is way above the required amount of wattage needed. The fans and lights are all spinning.
>>60687215
I'll try using my current PC's GPU.
>>
>>60687323
I already got it.
>>
>>60686856
Gonna be building my first computer soon, no idea what I'm doing. I want to do GPU passthrough, because fuck windows.

So, I need parts that work well/easily with Linux (Debian) and will run games well.

My buddy is selling his old GTX 960 for $100, will that work both for passthrough and with linux? Should I buy it? If I get it, what other graphics card should I get? A 10 series?

What motherboards/processors are good for passthrough setups?
>>
>>60687307
For $100? absolutely.
It'd be worth it for $150.
It's about as good as a 470/570 4GB for 1080p and more preferable to a 1060 3gb
>>
$440 for a 1080??!?!?!

Refurbed but still worth a chance?

>>
>>60687343
Enjoy your card then. It is good.

>>60687342
If the fans and lights are on and you properly powered it (2 PCIE 6/8 pin or whatever your card runs on), then check the output on your other cards.
>>
>>60687361
EVGA 1080 had a huge issue with the PWM temperature. This one properly got returned and refunded for that problem. They fixed it and are selling it as refurbished. It being that cheap probably means it was broken once. It is up to you if you want to risk it or not. Ask if the issues with the temperature has been fixed or not first.
>>
>>60687401
Yea I realized it wasn't that good of a deal. Found this. Comes to $460 after using Jet's 15% off promo. Is Asus good or should I get a Strix if I go that route. Also is it still worth waiting for Vega? Prices seem to be dropping already

Hey. At least whoever took PCBGs advice the past 3 months to pair Ryzen with an RX470-RX580 can now sell it for a lot of profit or eth mine themselves. kek.
Feels good being right even if for odd reasons.
>>
>>60687467
Do you have other storage drives already? 250gb will fill fast with all the stuff you mentioned.
>>
>>60687456
>FE
FE cards are shit. They are there so people can remove the shit cooler and install their own custom coolers. If you are using an air cooled system just get the strix.

>Also is it still worth waiting for Vega?
We don't know because AMD is fucking shit and refuses to release information on Vega. We assume that its performance will be around 5-10% of the range of a 1080. The hard part will be waiting for its availability since it will get a launch on 30 July. That means the cards will only be in market in September or October.
>>
>>60687170
That's really solid for a $820 build minus peripherals

>>60687262
>PowerColor
Their high end cards, the Red Devil ones, are fantastic.
Their low end ones like the Red Dragon are pretty ass. Not sure if they're as bad as low end MSI and Gigabyte, though, maybe not. For cheap models I'd always stick with Sapphire usually.

>>60687307
>970
Yeah. Worth it in the $100-$125 range.
>>
>>60687488
>You can sell a 470/570 4GB for GTX 1070 money now
Jesus christ this is out of hand.
>>
>>60687483
Imo you should either get a top of the line flagship card like the 1080ti or just get a middle of the range card and upgrade in a few years. 1080 isn't really value for money at the money unless you want to buy the best GPU you can within a budget.
>>
I'm switching over from an amd fx 9590 to an i7 soon. I'm torn between an i7 7700k and a 6700k. I hear the kaby lakes don't support windows 7. ( Thinking of dual booting for games). Any thing I need to know about Intel before the switch?
>>
I am doing my first PC-Build and have a budget of around 700-800 this is the build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VFC83F

Anythig I should change or keep in mind before I buy?
>>
Whats a better budget case, Fractal Define S or NZXT S340?
>>
>>60687582
700-800 USD that is
>>
>>60687568
Mainly for games? Ryzen has better multi core performance but Intel has better single core performance.
>>
>>60687493
No I don't actually, what is the best thing to do for that to get it better, I was reading how some people use sdd for boot and stuff and then use a hdd for storage, or should I scrap that and just get a bigger SSD? Also I keep hearing about the force price drop , should I wait for that for the video card ? Thanks Anon, first time builder here
>>
>>60687593
Yeah, mainly for games.
>>
>>60687584
S340. Although I went with the P400.

>>60687582
Since it on a budget, get dual channel instead of single.
1060 isn't really good. Only get it if you are a team green fanboy or rely heavily on Nvidia shadowplay.
Get an SSD. And then scrap for a HDD around your house.
>>
>>60687608
I would get the 7700k then. The only reason not to is due to the heating issues it has if not then it is superior to the 6700k.
>>
>>60687597
Idk why people spout this meme about SSD for faster boot and hdd for storage.
How fucking often do you JUST reboot your PC?
I like everything loading, saving, etc, faster.
500GB is the minimum SSD size I'd get. 250GB is just OS + 3-4 large games.

Just forget the HDD. Add it later once you fill up that 500GB or 1TB or whatever SSD. Add that $50 you'd spend on a HDD to a larger SSD at least.

I'll never put a HDD in my PC again. I just have them in NAS. They make too much dumb noise and shit.

W7 blocks update to Kaby-Lake / Ryzen but it's still possible to bypass that

W7 Unblock Update Kaby-Lake / Ryzen
https://github.com/zeffy/kb4012218-19

Drivers to USB drive:
https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/125921-how-to-add-drivers-manually-to-a-usb-drive-to-install-windows-7-using-a-usb-3-0-port

Going from one CPU brand to the other really is the same thing considering there isn't as much CPU-related software than GPU related ones, so it's pretty much the same shit
Also, what are you going to do with your computer to requires a 7700k / 6700k?
>>
>>60687644
Thanks Anon, I have no idea I was just going by what I was reading, any SSD you would recommend?
>>
>>60687697
Samsung
>>
>>60687617
What should I get instead of 1060 then?
>>
>>60687644
You don't want to fill up your SSD, it smartly splits up the writes among it's cells, but they all have a limited amount.

If you have a small amount of free space left, you'll be reducing the size of your SSD as you rewrite files from games/system.
Still going to take a long while until each cell runs out of writes, but it's a bad idea to prematurely decrease the SSD size. It's better to just have the whole SSD die at one time, by then it'll probably be obsolete anyway.
>>
>>60687739
580/480. If it is overpriced, then just get the 1060 since AMD cards are overpriced all the time.
>>
>>60687170
A gtx 1060 for 1440p?

pants on head retarded son. If you cant nut up and get a 1070 then get the RX-580 from AMD

They are about the same at 1080p but the 580 slaps the 1060's shit at 1440p.
>>
>>60687654
Hmm, how "stable" is that bypassing stuff with kaby lake for windows 7? Also mainly to play games. I've built 3 desktops in my life and 2 were amd, and an Intel for a friend. I've got the funds. But I'll also need a new Mobo and some ddr4 ram now. Any recommendations for those?
>>
>>60687855
>how "stable" is that
Perfectly stable. The block is just a check based on the CPU model so fooling it is just making it think the CPU is not among the blacklisted models
>>
>>60687855
The block is a firmware block rather than a physical hardware block.
>>
>>60687884
Nice, perhaps I will go with the kaby lake. How's the temp on these things? I'll be reusing my Corsair h100i, and that thing kept my fx 9590 nice and cold, strange for how many people say the fx9590 gets super hot. That thing never exceeded 60c on load. And idle is around 17c. So just wondering temp comparison
>>
>>60687938
Why Kaby Lake over Ryzen? Unless it's a PC built exclusively for gaming, a Ryzen chip is generally better
>>
>>60688000

If you don't need the overclock, don't overclock. All it does it is reduce your component lifespan potentially as well as increase your electrical bill.

I want to rebuild a secondhand PC because my current PC's PSU fried other components during a storm.

The owner of this PC seems pretty clueless (more so than me at least), and sells the complete setup for a very small and acceptable price.
Why?
Because he claims the computer he's selling is haunted by ghosts or some shit... Just kidding.
He claims that there are many viruses on there and that it's beyond repair.

I wonder if that could really be the case, or that there is still a way to restore the computer to "factory-new-like".

Let's just assume it's as bad as he says, what would be the best thing to do?
Are there certain tricks to restore a computer completely to factory new without leaving any viruses or infected files behind?
Or would it be better to replace certain components just to be sure and safe?

Looking forward to any answers / help.

Maybe get a less shit monitor or a 2x8GB higher frequency ram kit, other than that you're pretty much done with that computer.
If you get a 4K monitor upgrading the GPU in the future could help but there's not really anything that would be worth it now and you might as well wait if you're satisfied with your current performance. a 980ti should handle 1440p well.
If you're not satisfied with performance and it doesn't look like ram speed is causing your issues you basically have to upgrade most of your computer.
New RAM, CPU and mobo, but unless there's something actually faulty with your computer you wouldn't notice much of a difference in gaming at 1080p60

Hard to answer that question. If you mean for big AAA games I think we'll have to wait until the next gen of consoles because games are generally based on that. I think we might see some changes due to how Ryzen introduced cheap multicore CPUs though, which is a good thing of course.

I'd like to know what the best way to test these components is without worrying about wasting money on them.
>>
>>60689353
It really depends on the benchmarks and overall feedback it receives. I doubt it's gonna be clocked very high either. Gotta see how the 6c/8t does too.

One of the reasons I got a 7700K is because I emulate a lot. I've been pretty happy with it so far and I don't see it failing to do anything I'm asking it to anytime soon, and anyway I absolutely needed a computer when I bought it and the 7700K was the only choice for me at that time. R7 had just gotten out but were overpriced, and overall I didn't feel like playing beta testers for AMD. With that said I might have went for the 1700X had I gotten the chance to.

Are you looking to make yourself a new computer? If you can wait then wait for the next Intel CPUs and see how they do. I don't recommend the 7700K right now unless you absolutely need a new computer right now, and even then, 1600(x) or 1700(x) might be a smarter choice at the moment.
>>
>>60687170
Solid build, only suggestion would be to pick up a SSD for your OS and frequently accessed programs/files.
>>
>>60689420
It's about 15% weaker in performance.
>>
>>60689432
well I'm on 1st gen i7, so an upgrade would be really really nice.

Streaming is something I'd like to do but I hear that with NVENC there really is no performance hit and just a slight quality per bitrate sacrifice..

The current Ryzen line doesn't appeal to me with the gaming sacrifices, though.. Shit, waiting sucks.

The hardware market is fucked up, what kind of scheme is it to announce products 2-3 weeks before they're on the market and able to be purchased?
>>
>>60689503
I know it is weaker in performance already. I want to know how this difference translate into performance in actual games.
>>
>>60689516
Literally 15% less FPS.
>>
>>60689534
Link to benchmarks?
>>
>>60689513
>The current Ryzen line doesn't appeal to me with the gaming sacrifices, though..
What sacrifices? If you get high frequency RAM to work you get a very good experience, and generally a smoother one than on a 7700K, albeit not as good max FPS. For emulation though the 7700K is still beast because of its high clock.

I don't know about 1440p and 4K on the other hand.

Once again if I were you I'd wait, as much as it sucks. Intel is switching their stance here so waiting might be worth it, if you follow me? Next CPUs aren't going to be another Skylake, they're changing things for good so I believe waiting is your best bet to not have regrets down the road.

I'd go for ryzen since it should be far cheaper whole offering similar performance with more cores and more threads. Or try to find reviews online.

Go to the archive of /g/
And look how recommendations of build have gone.
Before Ryzen it was all intel.
After Ryzen it became all about it after patches and fixes were implemented.
The 7700k is only there to keep the autistic screeching at bay. Mainly 1080p 140hz + systems.
You may have bare witness to the poster known as IMG_XXXX. He spams 720p benches to say that the 7700K is the better CPU. Where as he'll claim that a bench showing ryzen pulling more frames at 1080-4k are GPU bottle necked despite the frame rates being rather staggered between the two systems. That were it really a bottleneck they should pull near the same frames.
He chooses low pixel tests because that's where clock speeds matter.
There's no reasoning with this kind of autism.
>>
>>60690337
A SSD was eventually going to be the plan, but I've operated with a Sata 3.0 GB/s HDD for so long that I wasn't worried about the speed. Honestly, picking the 7100 over the R4 1400 was painful, but it's an 80 dollar price difference that I can't afford.

>>60690378
Nearest is 260 miles sadly.
>>
>>60690463
>That were it really a bottleneck they should pull near the same frames.
Are you genuinely stupid enough to believe that a higher resolution demands more CPU time?
What's wrong with you?
>>
>>60690413
Step 1: What tasks will your CPU run?
Step 2: Check benchmarks
Step 2: Buy the CPU that run those tasks best within your budget

You need lots of cores? Get AMD. You need the best single threaded performance you can get? Get Intel.

As to GPU. Do you care about power consumption/heat/noise? Get Nvidia. Do you want most bang for your buck? Get AMD. Do you want the most powerful GPU, money is no issue? Get Nvidia.
>>
Does my board need crossfire support to do a Linux + Windows VM build?
>>
>>60690480
Explain why the intel system can get 20+ less frames with the same card then.
>>
>>60690447
Return it. If it popped off during installation, it was probably faulty.
>>
>>60690493
I've never seen anything close to what you're talking about, anything even similar. What the fuck are you on about, AMDbot? Where is this? In any scenario when the GPU is the limiting factor, they pull the same frames. As in, 4k. Where the CPU is the determining factor, Intel always pulls ahead.
>>
>>60690399
Yeah... I figured it wouldn't be the greatest idea. Welp, guess I'll just roll with integrated graphics until rx is back in stock.
>>

You're the only one ever mentioning this though, you've been trying hard to push some meme on /g/ on top of shilling Ryzen to death. If anything you're the autistic one here, because you're clearly not getting paid for being like this, which means you actually believe, deep down, that acting the way you do benefits you in any way.
>>
>>60690427
bad news everything is outdated to hell except the psu so keep that
other bad news is that arma is an unoptimized shit engine so your gonnna need alot of power to brute-force some frames
a 1600(or intel equivalent) plus a 1060 id say would be minimum
>>
Since AMD took forever to give us Vega or any info on it i took the plunge and decided to take on a offer for a gtx 1080 strix for 590,- dollars. Upgrading from my 290x. How did i do? I hope this will be worth it. Shitload of money, but that's disco.

It might be better. But when they have waited so long on providing any info on prices, performance, what not then i am sick of waiting. I see a lot of AMD users doing the same thing and i don't think im gonna regret a 1080 for a 1080p monitor anytime soon.

First to last
Your needs and wants
CPU that meets the needs
Storage needs
Motherboard
RAM
GPU
PSU

Then add what you want after you see the total cost and it comes under budget.
Better GPU if gaming No.1 priority
And or CPU (motherboard if needing more ports/overclocking ect)
RAM
PSU to account for additional wattage
Additional storage (can always buy later)

what are the odds that games are going to start utilizing 6+ cores now that both amd and intel are pushing muh coars?

i'm not sure whether i want an i7 7700k or r7 1700, i'm very much meaning toward the r7 because i do a lot of non-gaymen stuff on my pc (rendering, programming, multitasking)
but it still feels silly to buy a brand new 350€ cpu that's already obsolete (for gaming)

convince me that over time 1700 will slightly close the gap relative to 7700k so i feel better about buying it

>>
>>60690892
Some games already do use everything you throw at them - complex, open world games like GTA V need to be heavily multi-threaded because console have 8 core CPUs with weak single threaded performance. That said, most games don't require that much CPU power so they do fine with, like two threads. I wouldn't expect that to change. Games are mostly GPU bound.

I've been playing Nier: Automata lately. I have a g4560, low end, dual core, 50$ CPU. Guess what, CPU use in that game sits constantly at below 50%.

I'm interested in the i7 7800X that's coming out, pic related.
But the major hurdle is power consumption. Being an Aussi, that's a problem.
Zen+ is around the corner as well. So it's still not looking good for most of their line up. Unless they by some how they clock very well.
Ryzen was disappointing in that regard. but it's a new arch, so such things weren't unexpected.
I hope that's fixed with Zen+, because whilst I can afford to buy intel. Power prices are a bitch.
>>
>>60690696
>I think I sound professional and interesting if I drag out out the last word in the sentence.
>>
>>60690931
that's correct

i7 7700k has 4c/8t r7 1700 has 8c/16t

the 7700k is built for the best single core effectiveness, most games only use 2-4 cores so it performs significantly better in most gaming (10-15% or so) than the 1700, but the 1700 can be twice as fast in hyperthreaded uses such as rendering or multitasking (streaming while gaming and multiple tabs open etc.)

I fell for the AMD meme which is running strong on the internet.

I bought a Ryzen CPU, but now I have trouble finding a decent non-trash µATX board for it, which is also compatible with my ram
I have read through numerous boards, and pretty much all non-premium boards are not supporting p-state OC, means once overclocked you are stuck at the set voltage.
And then there is the buggy Ryzen Master tool, which barely anyone uses for good reasons.

Going to return the CPU.
>>
>>60691251
So so. I did a budget build with it back in *checks* 2012-2013 shit! OK didn't realise this was a real toaster!

For the money the build was great, the Crossfire combo worked nicely, although I've had the odd cooling issue in recent times. Have had to reapply CPU paste and beef up the fan

Back when I bought it, not much supported crossfire, so in that regard it was bad, but now its pretty standard. Think its on by default now

But it ain't a high tier setup, I did an exercise in FPS per dollar via Toms Hardware... when that was still worth a damn

Back in the dark days of 2012 GPU was the real bottleneck, so we all bought the cheapest mainboard we could, stuck an OK quad-core on it and spent as much money as we could on the GPU.

The GPU CPU combo was a nice idea (cheap too) and works for pretty but small games... but for ARMA its dogshit. There are just too many AI machinations per second

ARMA 3 is pretty damn CPU heavy and pushing more work through the CPU was a bad idea, first time I turned it on the CPU went straight over 85°C and popped the whole system off half way through a game. Deep joy. Since then I've squeezed another few hundred mhz from the CPU, but with meh results.

ARMA 3 is the best/shittist game I've played in a while. You look at it funny and it falls over
