The Japanese make still virtually all good cameras. If anyone seems to be disrupting the market for enthusiast cameras now, the closest guess is Sony with it's mirrorless cameras - Japanese.

Well, they were also ahead in display technology. You need crisp, high resolution displays to display Japanese text. Maybe that has something to do with it.

You must have heard this meem somewhere with the people who just want an excuse why Sony must surely suck while their mirrorless cameras are currently raping the DSLR market like nothing before.

But no, they don't process images badly. Even if you want RED TINT ALL OVER THE PLACE like some cameras do it for "aesthetics" comparable to instagram filters, you can do that any time, even in-camera, never mind with the typical workflow on a RAW editor.
