Looks fucking awful. Windows 2000 was the height of Microsoft's UI design. It has been mostly going mostly downhill after that, what with their failed UI experiments one after another.

And they never will. It's symptomatic of the fact that Windows is at its core a 30+ year old OS that is well past its expiration date.

I think it's likelier that we will see a completely new OS from Microsoft. Breaking binary compatibility in Windows would be to costly for them.
