can be easily scaled up and down. a single 1000 I/O of HBM2 config gives you the same 256gb/s of a gtx 1070. and two I/O's gives you more bandwidth than a Titan XP

The vega arch can activate 4 full I/O's

so memory is by far superior in every way going forward than GDDR standard.

Whether or not an AMD GPU can take advantage of it is another question altogether.

The biggest problem with AMD is that they dont scale properly. The flagship should have been 6000 shaders.
