what i did was i created a reason to, like make it a goal to make a simple cli application launcher or menu. thats what i did and it got me started

the steps for me have gone like this the past few months:

>start making CLI apps that do 1-2 things
>start to tackle OOP paradigms
>start to create very small GUI applications that are more or less a bunch of libraries put together

The strength and issue with python is that there's probably a library for everything. From astronomy to biology.
Think about what you need, or maybe generalize a problem.
For example, I wrote a script to download the mp3 files from a bandcamp page instead of doing it manually.
