Logitech Proteus Core or Steelseries Sensei?

I'm leaning the Sensei because I really like my old Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3 and would like a mouse with similar ergonomics. Plus being all rubberized seems nice.

I just replaced my Sensei RAW with the Rival 700. Damn good mouse and I loved every second with it. I had it since late 2015, but unfortunately the left click button just got too worn down and mushy for me to handle this past month or two. So other than that, really fucking good mouse

The g502 is almost perfect, thought I'd like one with less gaymer design and maybe two more buttons.

I use all of them all the time, the DPI one as Play/Pause, G6 as copy and G7 as paste, G5 as next and G4 as forward and then that low DPI button or whatever for F11.
>>
I'm currently considering buying either the Roccat Nyth or the razer hex v2.
I can't live without a great number of thumbuttons anymore and narrowed it down to these 2.
Which one should I get? I don't know much about roccat and I have never owned a razer mouse (luckily the tramp logo can be turned off).

I bought a g403 after using a g502 for a year. I liked the g502 but I love the g403. I got the wired one and it really feels like the successor to the 510/518. Nice and light with that goat shape, wheel and side buttons. Also the sensor is pure sex. I even got a g pro keyboard for the fuck of it to sync LEDs. I actually think the romer-g switches are fucking great compared to standard mx browns. Haven't enjoyed my peripheral setup this much in a long time.

ordered a new g100s (old model) now. i love this. i think new logitech mice really low quality compared the old ones. mx518 etc. used to be the best mice on the market at that time. now logitech is as low as razer or steelseries or anything ridiculous like that

Just got mine today from the Amazon deal. Upgrading from a G400.

It's alright, not worth 100+. Clicks feel way more solid and go straight down, nice feeling. Side buttons placement is way better. Scroll wheel is too stiff for my liking but I guess they did that since there was so many complaints that it's too loose from the fly wheel feature. Oh and man the cord that comes with this is so nice, the G400 one was terrible and the reason why I went for this. Thinking of picking up a Rival 500/700 if I can just use this cord with that.
>>
sup faggots.
>>
>>60665769
So far feels quite nice. Going from FK1. I've also had the Rival 300, the button placement wasn't.. fun. Really liked it's scroll though. G900's seems to be a good upgrade even from g502.

>>60665775
used it, disliked it.
>>
>>60665799
Yeah I was leaning more toward the 500. The button placement on the 300 and 700 seem a little to far back. Not sure why the made the Forward so stubby.

I've got a strong claw grip and they're discontinued/very scarce and my spawn's getting dated.
Right now in also using a Triathlon m720 and though it's fairly wide, it feels more cramped than my spawn. That little step on the sides has made a world of difference and I can't find anything like it.

I've used wired mouses all my life. Now I'm considering going cordless, but having to deal with buying batteries or charging during downtime seems really annoying, especially considering the cord never really got in the way of anything in the first place.

g403 and g900 if wireless gaming is your concern, not sure of anything related to work or office though. Logitech really narrowed down the latency with those two models so it's basically one-to-one with any other mouse havig a 3366 sensor.
also if you're comfortable staying with wired, you should. they're cheaper, generally better weight wise, and you'd have many more options than wireless ones

Looks almost exactly the same as a chink mouse I got for minor gaymen. To be fair it was a pretty good mouse but the scroll wheel fucked about sometimes and the side buttons functions were reversed.

It's it's cheap and you just want a cheapshit mouse, go for it. If you want something decent save your money and invest it in a Logitech or SteelSeries.
>>
>>60675505
Worse in which senses? I doubt 'sensor' differences or wtv will be noticeable with what I do on the computer, so I pretty much just need it to work without any problems, be comfy for long periods, and just last a good while.
I've been using the CM Storm Recon for a while now and while it still works perfectly fine, lot of the rubber's been scraped off from the sides and the buttons and it looks disgusting now.
>>
>>60675794
The weight and sensitivity, I guess? It's pretty light and isn't as precise as g400. But since I'm no longer a gamer, I don't really care as long as it works.
Before I use this, I use local brand chink mouse, and those were always broken in 3-4 months. But this one lasts for 1 years and counting, so far.
>the rubber's been scraped off from the sides
Yeah, I got that too. Though in my case it's only on it's left side, and not the buttons (since they're plastics).

You got a great quality but overpriced mouse for free. Directly bypassed its main disadvantage. Enjoy!

Unless you wanted something MMO-style, which it's obviously not.
>>
>>60670423
Depends what you want. G700s is better in every way as long as you recharge it every night or use it primarily wired (I'd keep it wired on my desktop and then just unplug it and go when I went out with my laptop, come back in the evening and plug it back in). Also two fewer side buttons. In return, however, you get better shape (in my opinion), better sensor, much better scroll wheel, some more top buttons and more onboard profiles.

Something like G403/G900 have proper battery life, but even less buttons.
>>
>>60672459
None whatsoever, unless you have an HD LC or built-in RAID on your mouse.
>>
>>60676856
Who the fuck cares about how it looks? Do you put your mouse on display or something?

>I assume you meant button placement.
Not him but a lot of people prefer the optical sensor to be directly under their finger tips. I personally have to problem with it in the middle but I guess I can see the appeal. I've never tried a mouse with the sensor at the front though, maybe it's a night and day difference

>>
>>60679482

>>
>>60679599
When it's under your fingertips, the movement is directly influenced by your finger movements. When it's in the middle or back, it's detecting an average movement between the front and back of the mouse
>>
>>60679599
Shorter twitch movements from the wrist allow for greater travel of the sensor when placed towards the tip.
>>
>>60679482
Well, button placement is nearly identical, with the g502 the additional index finger buttons lay flatter.

I use it mainly when I need to carry something light (and use it with a tablet with a Bluetooth keyboard as mini work station of sorts) or when I'm at my bed watching something from a dedicated media pc I got connected to the TV all the time.

if all you do is shitpost and watch animu they are fine. They have (not really noticeable) latency and they often cant track fine movements or fast movements, or they have built in accelleration.
>>
>>60690025
A good way to look at it is that cheap mice usually don't have any downside, but expensive mice have advantages. Meaning, as long as you don't get absolute chinkshit that will die on you within 6 months, you'll be fine - but you'll be missing out on meme epic sensors, pro gaming tier (lack of) latency, buttons everywhere, meme-tier shape, customisable weights (and sometimes more), etc.

If you don't need any of that, there's literally nothing wrong with cheap-tier good-quality mice. Logitech in my experience is pretty good about quality so you'll be just fine with pic related.
>>
>>60665017

How large is your hand, what weight do you want it to be, and what is the best shape for you.
>>
Question: is heavier or lighter considered "best", or is it purely up to personal preference?

I just got a G502 to replace my G700s, and without the weights it's like I'm not even holding a mouse. I like it a lot, but I see people here shitting on mice because they're "too light".

I usually use around 1400-1800, normal 1080p screen. I keep the DPI up/down buttons with settings around 800 and 2600 for when I sometimes want really fast or really slow (usually useful in random indie games where I can't be bothered to change the sensitivity setting and can't be bothered to make a separate profile for them). And I do use the DPI shift at 200, it's nice for pixel-perfect movements - e.g. for framing screenshot regions perfectly.

This. Add the G403/900 wireless too, and I'd easily pay $150 for it.

Also make a version with G600 style thumb buttons (and G700s style index buttons, but keep the G600 ring finger button) for a more streamlined design for when you don't need a full numpad block.

I had the older Kova that looked like a lamborghini. It was pretty decent quality for the most part, lasted me about three years. I didnt love the side buttons though, but this new model seems to have bigger ones that are easier to hit.

My G700 is dying. Which mouse should I buy?

The grip is perfect and it has the right amount and placement of buttons. I can't find anything that feels as good.

I'm also someone who went to a rival 700 from a sensei raw and then a rival 300. Rival 300 has solid ergonomics without being too small, but the rival 700 definitely could do with a larger model. That being said, the swappable parts and removable cables are so worth it in the long run. Both my sensei raw and rival 300 got a kink in the wire that made the signal finicky in certain positions, so knowing I have a backup cable for the future is nice. Not to mention it feels solid and premium.
