That's right you are told to buy one bottle of milk then if they have eggs bring six so the answer adds up to seven.
What bothers me is that people buy six eggs instead of a dozen. If I was asked to bring a dozen I would bring a dozen eggs since I have that associated with eggs or anything that comes in one dozen.

Why would you need such quantities of milk and eggs

I'm not saying don't buy either but the bottle of milk is an exceedingly small quantity that won't justify a half dozen eggs purchase.

You're better off buying a more standard quantity of milk (litre/quart) and 12 eggs because only going for non-standard milk quantities could limit those who also use the milk too much and be an issue.
