European Union is expected to levy record fine for anti-competitive practices related to FRAND patent licensing on Qualcomm next week to the tune of €900 million.
E.U. is also expected to order Qualcomm to lower LTE patent licensing fees to competing modem makers such as Intel and allow Samsung to sell Exynos smartphone chipset to others.
The ruling is in line similar anti-competitive inquiries concluded in China and South Korea last year.
Anti-competition investigations are ongoing in the United States and Japan against Qualcomm.
