Broke my last iPhone ever, not buying an Android because I'm not carrying Google around.
I seriously considered a flip phone and a Kindle but I need a GPS.
What do /g?

get a phone you can install lineage os on and don't install gapps, install f-droid, download OsmAnd for maps and navigation
The nice thing about Android is that you can just use a rom that does not use Google, and use F-Droid instead.
Of course the app selection is limited, so if your hate is only limited to Google and not non-free software in general there is an app called "yalP Store" that will download apps which you can find on Google Play through a dummy account for your device.
A lot of them are Play Services dependent but I've found a lot of them work despite this.

Personally I use Copperhead OS on a Nexus 6P and it's comfy.

will maps work with out microg and will notifications work properly?
>>60618711
Of course not
Never used an Android phone, anyone has a sauce on the trade-offs of using something like LineageOS or CopperheadOS?

The trade off is your time wasted

You're talking about having a smartphone desu
Anyone using replicant? Is that something to even consider?
I've got a chink phone - Bluboo Picasso, the one without 4G and on Android 5.1. Is there a way to remove gapps, and/or make myself sure that there is no shitty spyware on it? I'd like to try to live without gapps for some time, but I don't want to change anything on my main device yet. If no, what is the cheapest chink phone I can buy now and flash a fully working Lineage OS or AOSP without gapps?
get a phone that supports replicant and then don't install any gapps
of course you don't know what any of this is as flip phone shits are just in it because they are always the same hipster trying to be different. this has nothing to do with technology.

>He doesn't know that Kindle has Spyware
Cell phone carriers are also botnets so... gg
This is comfy and sideloads android apps.
What do? Put your bullshit hatred aside, figure out what you need a phone to do, figure out your budget, then the phone within that budget that best fits your needs.
It might help if you just go without a phone for a while, or just use an old one for the time being. It's a lot easier to find what you need if you run into these needs naturally.

their android support is in 4.4.3 though so its outdated as fuck, things are dropping support for that old versions left and right

that's true, though I only really use it for music, browsing and as a backup shitposting device, so not as much of an issue for me.
