it's an obscure injoke
just try importing __y__, see what happens!

Pythonic is a shitty buzzword but it's definitely a real thing. It just kinda means "good" or "consistent with how the rest of the language is". It's a style thing which you just start to feel after a while.

list comprehensions are better than map and filter
>>60601901
The word you're looking for is "idiomatic".
>>60602212
more like idiotmatic. i hate this stupid fucking meme language
>>60598034
>>60601901
>>60598034
pythonic just means it adheres to the python style guide
you guys wouldn't know anything about style guides because
>you're 'self-taught'
>you have no style
>>60598034
>when your compiler is so shitty it doesn't enforce idiomatism
>when your language is so shitty it allows non-idiomatism

A guy I used to work with had somebody tell him that when he used a loop in a python program. Apparently, you're not supposed to use loops in python... and yet, the syntax exists. I guess loops go beyond what truly pythonic pythonistas are used to.

Because unlike Python code artisans we use the correct word "idiomatic".
If you use the language's idioms properly, your code works better with other people's libraries because they're all using the idioms too.
This is true for any language
