Grats.
>>
I'm sure you will totally notice the difference.
>>
>>60594142
i already noticed it heavily on some musics and very very slightly on some others
it's an asus xonar dgx by the way, was on an integrated Realtek ALC887 before that
>>
>>60594179
Well good for you then I suppose. Post more 2hu's.
>>
>>60594208
sure thing!

Xonar DG is pretty good for the price, it doesn't cost a lot (DG is same card as DGX but PCI)

I myself bought it for the optical output when I needed it but it was actually better than the onboard card when using equalizer with headphones, so I have just been using it since then

Also if you run Winshit, please do not ever enable Dolby Headphones or 7.1 Virtual Surround in the control panel, it sounds like cancer. Who the fuck uses those functions, it sounds unnatural and crap

Kind of amazing that someone can get this triggered over cartoon characters. Personally I don't really care about anime or not that much into it but I don't get people who get triggered over it, how does it affect your life?

One for each channel. I bet you could create a marketing story about how it stops channels from interfering with eachother and sell it.

Always the same argument of complaining about anime in an anime website.

I thought you faggots steered clear of mainstream shit, because you know, anime now is mainstream and casul as fuck.

Enjoy being a sheep.

>>b-but i liked it before it was heavily shoved everywhere
Lol who the fuck says that? It's so simple even a retard like you could understand, this is an anime website, if you don't like it, maybe you shouldn't be here.
>>
>>60594629
Breathing is also mainstream and casul as fuck, I still like it.

Typical animenigger
>>
>>60594728
A sound card is literally a dac and an amp.

I do though :^)
>>

Would an external dac give me better audio quality the same way this sound card does though?
>>
>>60594841
Depending on the device, yes. In principle they're the same thing, the only difference is the location. The inside of a PC is a pretty noise heavy area. You can counter this with insulation and the like, but you know how audiophiles hate noise and spend a fuckton on insulation.

Not noises, noise. Constant, by definition random signals that are put on top of the actual signal. Honestly, they're probably indistinguishable by people, but you always have people saying they can hear the difference so fuck if I know.

>people taking the bait

>>60595047
the only noise you'll hear is if it's at a really shitty bitrate, if you have a dying soundcard, or if your headphones have really shit drivers in them or if they're damaged

if everything's alright then there's no difference at all, just placebo. Nobody should spend above $1000 in audio gear just for listening at home and hear a difference in quality with cheaper gear, other than difference in the sound itself

I swear these retarded audiophiles wouldn't get an answer right in a double blindfold test

I have an ASUS Xonar D2X but not using it. Didn't like how it colored the sound output and it had some wierd shit where the drivers would auto-balance music volume lower if there was someone talking in a youtube video at the same time. No, it wasn't because of the setting in Windows sound control panel.
>>
>>60595977
Strange. I don't have such issue with D1. Can't you turn this shit in the drive settings? Are you using win 10? I wouldn't be surprised if it is it's fault.

You mean pic related?
I bet that was the problem, faggot.

W7 is the worst windows sound-wise, they ditched direct sound for XAudio and nerfed a lot of shit, specially HRTF related.
Also, also, about the sound being altered it's your own fault for not using uni drivers and XonarSwitch.
>>
>>60595052
No. This is a techloligy board.
>>
>>60594537

I just plug a surround sound I bought off the carboot for 20 quid into my headphone jack
>>
>>60597454
I always turn that off with every Windows install I've ever had. It didn't help. It was some shit in the drivers.
>>
>>60597454
>XonarSwitch
If you're talking about the custom control panel they had added, I did have that and it didn't have any settings. I didn't use the generic Windows audio drivers at all.

i can say i'm really enjoying this soundcard purchase!
>>
>>60597916
Yes. At least, I use my ODAC (connected via USB) and integrated side by side occasionally. It's useful to split VOIP/music and gameplay audio to dedicated channels when I'm recording. I mix them together with a simple analogue mixer.
They're just two devices under playback devices, I don't see why an audio card would work differently.

This is the truth.
I can also confirm that Xonar DGX is a good choice.
If you don't have the $40 for it, and you still have an old-school PCI slot, look for Creative Audigy2 ZS on eBay for ~$15.
