I bought a gaming laptop a year and a half ago from XoticPC and it's still running great. https://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8157-clevo-p650hs-g.html is similar to the system I bought but it comes with Kaby Lake and a GTX 1070 (8gb). Roughly the same model, but better hardware.

I got an Alienware desktop and laptop. The laptop has Arch and the desktop is my main gaming machine. No problems, just smooth and stylish machines.

Build a $800 gaming desktop
Buy a $150 chromebook and put linux on it
