i5 or i7 Surface Pro?

The i7 SP4 is good enough but honestly unless you're doing a lot of photoshop/video editing/compling there's no point because the GPU is a piece of trash.

If you don't need to do any of those things get the i5.

If it's a SP3 get the i5 because the i7s get hot enough to start a small sun in your bedroom. Constant thermal issues for me, it actually made the pages on my sketchbook turn yellow and begin curling before becoming brittle. Probably could've started a fire.

The i5 is not fanless which is either awesome or results in constant throttling.

The fanless worries me. My SP4 i7 gets bizarrely hot doing even relatively basic things. I love it, but it's a serious issue.

I play ffxiv on mine with Photoshop still being open and YouTube on in the background and my i7 doesn't get unbearably hot

But I used to have an i7 sp3 before this and that got hot enough to melt plastic so perhaps I have some vague Stockholm syndrome going on here.

Have a few too many tabs of Firefox open, usually Maybe a few loaded but paused Youtube videos. It can be kind of temperamental. Some days I won't even hear a peep out of it if I'm doing anything short of benchmarking.
