I'm slowly getting divorced from Google. My phone is no longer a botnet (Lineage without gapps), I hardly ever use my gmail account anymore (going to phase it out once LavaBit opens again), got off Drive, etc.
There's still one thing that bothers me. Search engines. I use DuckDuckGo, but pretty much every other day I will end up getting unsatisfactory results in response to some query. I then end up caving and adding !g. I don't want to.
What are some other decent search engine options to try when DDG fails me? Ideally stuff that is privacy driven, but hell, I'll take anything that isn't run by an asshole corporation.
Are there any tricks to getting good results without Google?

If you use the Google bang in DDG, it's DDG who sends the request for the search so Google never knows it was you who searched for it in the first place. Also, you can just copy and paste links that show up in the result instead of clicking them to ensure that Google never knows a thing.
