Anon, are you enjoying your kindle?
2010 called, they want their shitty tech back.
>>60554939
i'm neglecting it right now, but i do enjoy it when i use it!
>>60554952
>reading paper books like some kind of savage
oh anon
>>60554939
how do i get "2 mins left in chapter" on calibre
>>60554939
Yes
>>60554939
Yes, it makes bedtime reading less strenuous.
Yeah. I need to get a fucking case for it though, now I'm just wrapping it in a piece of soft cloth every time I want to take it with me.
E-readers are one of my favourite pieces of consumer tech. They actually hugely improve on the comfort of a single, very important task rather than being boring "bigger smart device" "smaller smart device" "thinner laptop" bullshit.
They were as big a game changer for me as MP3 players were back when they were new. Yeah burning CD:s worked okay and I could technically read a book on my PC, but the dedicated devices made that kind of digital media consumption actually comfortable and a plausible option.
Dedicated DAPs became less important with decent smartphones, but so far no replacement for the dedicated e-reader.

>>60555208
That's why AMOLED exists though aplel hasn't adopted it yet just like the micro sd card slot.
>>60555249
To be fair IPS displays do cause more eye strain than AMOLED displays.
t. someone who went from a touchgate 6 plus to a samshit J7.
Got a Paperwhite recently, an upgrade from a keyboard Kindle
I miss physical buttons, but the frontlight is worth it

Which is fine but you're obviously not a hardcore reader.
My kindle is starting to look battered as hell which is good, it's had a good use of life. But thinking of picking up a Kobo Aura One next, waterproof and the lighting seems a lot better on the eyes again.

>kindle
Do I look like I have dicks in my ass?
I have a Kobo since I'm not a faggot.
>>60554939
Yeah man, been reading my paperwhite on the bus to/from work every day, still works great.
The lack of PDF support is a huge pain in the ass, so many damn books I look up only released physical or PDF.
