Its written in go so it can literally served all the traffic of Japan off a raspberry pi. It is also planning to have frequent database dumps for mirroring purposes. Both of those things make it trivial to mirror the site so we don't ever have a situation like the Nyaa shutdown again. If you're going the base64 route then define it as a class in CSS instead of doing it as an inline image. Inline base64 images will repeat the data for as many times as it appears on the page, making it much less efficient size-wise.
