Should one use Pass instead of KeePass for password management?

if you want to

keepass is more portable

what prevents a bunch of gpg encrypted files from being just as portable as a single keepass database?

its like you want to be apart of the botnet

Honestly it's not like one is vastly superior than the other. Keepass has the benefit of a lot of plugins but doesn't run well on Linux and also can be hard to keep a database up to date between multiple devices.

Pass on the other hand is great, (although I had a lot of trouble with it on Windows). It's simple, lightweight, and abides pretty closely by the Unix philosophy. The only thing that personally bugs me about it is that the GPG file is stored by the name of the website, and so if somebody got a hold of the database they would know where you have passwords to.

I just use keepassX currently.

Btw anybody have a suggestion on what to make your database password? I'm just using a generic one but I want to make something a little more secure

On the groupware aspect of keepass, I know it has a WebDAV feature.

Anyone actually used it with an https WebDAV server?

I don't like pass, it just leaks too much metadata with its file names and folder structure.

After reading a little, I found interesting to replace my keepassx2 stored passwords in a gpg/openssl crypted txt file. Which of the two do you anons recomends?
