Anyone here using Rust in the Windows 10 Subsystem for Linux? I can't seem to edit the path variable for initial configuration so that bash can see rustc, Cargo, etc.
I tried appending the directory to .profile in the lxss directory tree and it made no difference, even on reboot.
Take your time guys, I'm downloading Gentoo from the Windows Store while I wait.

Literally ask on plebbit.
Ask the guys over at reddit Rustfriend, /g/ doesn't particularly use this socially just language.

I'll have you know that I'm a minority who is being microaggressed from learning how to program by you fucks.
Also okay I'll go make a throwaway later if I can't figure it out. Thanks anyway.

Fair enough, but the whole knowledgeable rust userbase hangs out at /r/rust

Try .bash_profile, bash has some fucked up rules for looking for profile, it wont even look into .profile if .bash_profile exists.
why, just use the MS build tools. VS code, RLS, comfy debugger, no linux required.

try setting the PATH on .bash_rc instead and see if it works

> Windows 10 Subsystem for Linux
There is none, there is windows 8 in WINE though. And if you are talking about Linux itself, all you gotta do is add the path to /etc/profile. Read the Arch wiki

He's talking about WSL, not wine.
