Making an HTPC and I need a good wireless mouse/keyboard combo
Thinking about something like this

the trackpad is shit on that unit, but the buttons are nice enough.

There are many variations of this in the market. I have a similar one for my Kodi box. It was only $14 and works well for navigating and searching, but it kinda sucks in that the wireless functionality is somewhat sketchy... it kinda needs a line-of-sight with the receiver dongle to work well. My problem might be an anomaly though, as other anons have reported good things about them.
I just found out today about gyroscopic mice where the cursor goes wherever you point on the screen. Get one of those instead. Some come with keyboards on the back.

Someone left the top keyboard at work and I use it now, I'd recommend it. Used the bottom one for a while but no mouse on it. Thing is great and super handy.

Back label, has no brand markings otherwise so not even sure who made it

Who makes them?

Just search for "air mouse" on Amazon. Look for one with good reviews, but use FakeSpot before deciding on one.

KDE Connect can let you use your phone as one. I use it all the time.

Also, if you want to see how responsive they are, look for Youtube videos that demonstrate them.

Have 2-3 of those. They're adequate, but still kinda shitty. Best experience IMHO is a good multifunction/button mouse with excellent tracking (sofa, lap, etc). Typing might be an issue, but if your HTPC is set up properly, you shouldn't have to type that often if at all.

this one is legend honesetly
mine lasts over a whole week charged and i use it daily for my main htpc (streaming and local data)
charging takes about a hour and itll be good again
ive never let it fully drain because it lasts so long on little charge i keep it topped up to keep it healthy
BACKLIGHT VERSION IS A MUST
dont ruin the movie experience with turning on a light and having to readjust your eyes
theres even a button you can push to use the touchpad in portrait mode
Sign!
Just get a Logitech K400.
Do you see that button in the top left, that is a mouse left-click.
Do you understand what makes it useful?
Fuck, these small KBs are retarded.
