Is there an android RSS reader with notifications that doesn't absolutely rape my battery? Tried feedly but it's an absolute abortion. Overworked resource hungry garbage. I just want a simple application that gives me drawer notifications that take me to the URL provided in the feed. Who would have thought that could be so difficult?

Pick one anon

The tinytiny RSS android app doesn't pull info from your server until you open the app so it's reasonably easy on the battery.

I've trimmed my android down so it lasts 3.5 days standby. I'd say that's pretty good.

This actually looks promising. Thanks my man

I use Greader with a Feedly account anon. It's a bit overworked bit it's pretty customizable and the defaults are pretty sane.

Details...how?
you just need to set it to update only when opening the app, most readers have this feature
my favorite is gReader/News + but the last update is a year ago and the mobilizer stopped working
Palabre is the second best, but it feels clunky for me compared to gReader

Rooted and deleted all traces of bloatware (android is mostly bloat)
And Careful use of an application called DisableService

My note 4 is showing signs of age.
I got a rooted rom so I'll get to debloating
Thx

the issue with the note 4 is that the battery degrades relatively fast
