Can 5400 sustain 10MBps read speed?
I'm talking about playing back high quality 80-100mbps videos to a htpc, can it be done using a 5400 RPM drive?

Fucking uneducated swine, rpm has little to do with transfer times, mostly seek time and still there, it depends on the firmware and current technology used.
A modern day 5400rpm drive can easily do 200MBps while a 2000 7200rpm drive could varely hit 30MBps
