Does it work well with Debian? Ubuntu?
>>60526638
Nothing works well with apt.
Install Solus.
>>60526770
Faggot
>>60526638
Yes. Yes.
>>60526638
Yeah but you may need a more recent kernel than what Jessie or 16.04 LTS ships.
>>60526638
They do. However it is more preferred that you use 4.10 and above for better multi threading.

So stretch isn't really new enough then i take it...
Is ubuntu the only decent option?
>>60526638
Actually yes. Someone I know did just this. On Ubuntu.
>>60527112
Stretch is gonna have 4.9 LTS. That's close enough that I'd just try it and see if it works okay. If it doesn't you can always grab a kernel from backports, if you don't want to run testing.
>>60526638
You are supposed to use Gentoo, faggot.
>>60527496
The newest kernel in Gentoo "testing" is 4.11.2, actually. Stable is 4.9.16. Could be worth a try.
>>60527564
It is what I am using:Linux hostname 4.11.2 #1 SMP Mon May 22 10:47:48 CEST 2017 x86_64 AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Eight-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
>>60526992
>4.10 and above
How so? What changed?
>>60527775
Proper Ryzen support got added, that's what changed.
>>60527855
Meaning?
>>60527855
>https://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_4.10
>C-f zen
>EDAC support
I'm sure that's nice, but it hardly seems even remotely critical.
Should do, but use Stretch or Zesty at least. Jessie and Xenial are a little too old.
